Projects like Santa Monica & Vermont Apartments may be at risk as a result of potential federal rental subsidy funding cuts.

Sophie* is a single mom who spent years working multiple jobs while attending nursing school. Raised in foster care, Sophie had no family support to draw on.

Fortunately, Sophie and her daughter Charlotte moved into Santa Monica & Vermont Apartments, LTSC's 100% affordable housing project in East Hollywood.

Their brand-new apartment building has modern amenities, a playground, and community rooms to mingle with neighbors. And for the first time, Charlotte has her own room. With affordable rent, Sophie is able to work just one job so she can spend more time with Charlotte.

"I'm enjoying my life more and my stress has reduced. And I'm happier and able to achieve what I want to. This is a start to a happy ending."
